20 Success Tips From Jack Canfield

1. You miss every shot you don’t take. Your best bet is to just give it a shot. If you fail, who cares. Don’t sweat it. Focus on taking every chance you get and your life will never be the same again.

“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.”

2. Success requires you to be uncomfortable.

“Most everything that you want is just outside your comfort zone.”

3. In order to succeed, you first have to defeat fear.

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”

4. Live boldly and speak with certainty.

“People who ask confidently get more than those who are hesitant and uncertain. When you’ve figured out what you want to ask for, do it with certainty, boldness and confidence.”

5. The meaning of life is to give life meaning. What will your life stand for?

“Each day is an adventure in discovering the meaning of life. It is each little thing that you do that day – whether it be spending time with your friends, running in a cross-country meet or just simply staring at the crashing ocean- that holds the key to discovering the meaning of life. I would rather be out enjoying these things than pondering them. We may never really discover the meaning of life, but the knowledge we gain in our quest to discover it is truly more valuable.”

6. When you’re first starting out, the important thing is to just begin. Don’t over think it and don’t stress it, just begin.

“You don’t have to get it perfect, you just have to get it going. Babies don’t walk the first time they try, but eventually they get it right.”

7. Visualize your dream life. See it in your mind and it will manifest.

“Decide what you want. Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it and believe it’s possible
for you. And then close your eyes and every day for several minutes, and visualize having what
you already want, feeling the feelings of already having it. Come out of that and focus on what
you’re grateful for already, and really enjoy it. Then go into your day and release it to the
Universe and trust that the Universe will figure out how to manifest it.”

8. Don’t give up the control you possess over your life.  Steer your own life in the direction you please. Your dream life is within your reach.

“You only have control over three things in your life-the thoughts you think, the images you visualise, & the actions you take.”

9. Love what you do and everything else will follow.

“If you love your work, if you enjoy it, you’re already a success.”

10. Stop being a coward. If you seriously want to become successful, act like it.

“If you are going to be successful, you need to give up the phrase, “I can’t” & all of its cousins, such as “I wish I were able to.”

11. Write your goal down on a piece of paper and store it in your pocket. When you get a chance, read it. This will focus your mind.

“Carry your most important goal in your wallet.”

12. Learn to say, NO. Sacrifices are the name of the game. As much as it may hurt you, you sometimes have to say NO to that party invitation or movie night or whatever it may be. Put your dreams above all.

“There are only two words that will always lead you to success. Those words are yes and no. Undoubtedly, you’ve mastered saying yes. So start practicing saying no. Your goals depend on it!”

13. Focus on what makes you great instead of what makes you mediocre.

“The problem is that most people focus on their failures rather than their successes. But the truth is that most people have many more successes than failures.”

14. Believe in the process. The road to success is not a straight road, you’re bound to take wrong turns. But be that as it may, keep going and most importantly, enjoy the process.

“As you begin to take action toward the fulfillment of your goals and dreams, you must realize that not every action will be perfect. Not every action will produce the desired result. Not every action will work. Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right.”

15. Be selfish. Don’t try to help others when you haven’t even helped yourself. Put yourself in a position to win. Focus on others only after you have made it. You’ll be in a better position to do so.

“Success depends on getting good at saying no without feeling guilty. You cannot get ahead with your own goals if you are always saying yes to someone else’s projects. You can only get ahead with your desired lifestyle if you are focused on the things that will produce that lifestyle.”

16. Expand your reach and put more on your plate.

“I teach something called The Law of Probabilities, which says the more things you try, the more likely one of them will work. The more books you read, the more likely one of them will have an answer to a question that could solve the major problems of your life.. make you wealthier, solve a health problem, whatever it might be.”

17. You can only achieve as much as you think you can. You won’t make a million if you think you are incapable of doing so.

“If you want to attract more money you need to be thinking abundantly, so even though you might only be making $40,000 a year you want to be focusing on your gratitude for that coming from a state of abundance. And then what happens is you’ll attract more abundance to you. If you’re talking all the time about what you don’t want or how bad it is, then what you’re going to attract is more how bad it is.”

18. Accept responsibility for everything. Yes, EVERYTHING.

“If you want to be really successful, and I know you do, then you will have to give up blaming and complaining and take total responsibility for your life — that means all your results, both your successes and your failures. That is the prerequisite for creating a life of success.”

19. Be clear.

“One of the easiest ways to begin clarifying what you truly want is to make a list of 30 things you want to do, 30 things you want to have, and 30 things you want to be before you die.”

20. Don’t set limits on yourself. For instance, a lot of people think they cannot accumulate major success since they never went to school. This is complete BS. School does not predict what you can and can’t do.

“20% of America’s millionaires never set foot in college, and 21 of the 222 Americans listed as billionaires in 2003 never got their college diplomas; 2 never even finished high school!”
